Tor Bjornrud

I'm a second year doctoral student in the Media & Information Studies program at Michigan State University. I work in The Online Interaction Laboratory (TOIL) with Dr. Cliff Lampe and Dr. Nicole Ellison.

Research Interests

I'm driven by attempting to understand and improve online collaborative tools and communities, especially those targetted towards experts. Some of the current projects I'm interested in are:

-Exploring how experts in online communities use server level data to signal expertise to one another.

-Researching how structural properties of online communication networks relate to quantity and quality of volunteer contributions.
